Sam's Emerald

Sam came to me with an Art Deco brooch so beautiful it almost felt like sacrilege to take it apart.  She explained that it had been in her family for a long time and that it was passed down without every being worn.  She felt it was time to start again and turn it into something she would wear and love.

Originally we were going to make a new engagement and wedding ring set and we still might make the second ring, but for now we have just made the first one featuring the beautiful rectangular emerald that came from the brooch.  I felt really concerned that the new ring should do the original piece justice - it was important to b both Sam and I that the ring had a nod to the old piece and I think we haver succeeded with that.  

There are still lots of diamonds that we are going to move onto when finances and pandemics allow!
